On Tuesday evening, February 2, 2011 (Groundhog's Day!) the BGC--and I in particular--are presenting a program at the BCA on Cooking from the Garden. As the program is dead in the middle of the cold season, we won't be demonstrating fresh spring dishes, but we will talk about planning your kitchen garden, starting seeds indoors, and preserving your harvest by putting things by. I have invited a couple of friends and neighbors, who are experienced in backyard gardening, to share photos, and to be on hand for questions. I am interested in gathering more Blackridge vegetable tales, so if you have ideas for me, please leave a comment, or email me at firstname.lastname@example.org. I'm looking forward to hearing from you--even though I think I am the only one who reads this blog, and am entirely too amused by that fact.

I must say that I'm a new blog reader, but I do enjoy them and learn so much. It's also good to see what you might have in common, such as phrases like "putting things by." I haven't heard that for years, but it makes me feel all warm and toasty remembering my Grandmothers shelves that were bejeweled with canned fruits and veggies. I put by some of Lil's Dills and some Cinnamon Apple Jelly this year. Looking forward to other suggestions you might have at your presentation on Feb. 2.
