THESE ARE PRELIMINARY RULES FOR YOUR INFO, but we will probably tweak a few things.)
Eligibility:
- All entries must be hand made by the entrant. Works of art in any visual medium (such as drawing, painting, needlework, papier-mâché, sculpture, collage, poetry stepping stones, etc.) will be accepted, but they must be inspired by the garden, or they must be able to be displayed in the garden.
- Maximum size of all entries is 24 inches by 24 inches.
- No charge to enter, but entrants must follow posted deadlines.
- Individuals or teams, such as families, may enter.
- All entries must have completed label (below). Please attach the label with tape in an inconspicuous spot.
- You must name your work of art—you won’t be judged on perceived quality of your name. The name can be purely descriptive or can be as creative as you like.
Timeline:
- Entry form (below) is due February 22, 2013.
- All entries must be delivered to 1051 Blackridge Road by March 8, 2013 between 5:00 PM and 9:00 PM, or arrangements must be made to deliver the entry by that time by calling Nancy Del Presto at 412-247-4129 or by emailing [email protected].
- Judging will take place at the Bloomin’ Corners Benefit on March 15, 2013, and winners will be announced at that time.
- Entries may be brought home at the end of the Benefit, or you may make other arrangements when you deliver your entry.
Winners:
- Works of art will be judged on overall appearance, creativity/originality, composition/design, craftsmanship, and following directions, as outlined on the website.
- Three prizes will be awarded: First Place ($100.00 cash), Second Place ($50.00 cash), and People’s Choice Award (Bookstore Gift Card).
