Just want to remind you of our October program which is on TUESDAY, OCTOBER 11 at 7pm at the BCA. The program is entitled "Creating a Bird Habitat in Your Backyard".This will be a very informative meeting for all you current as well as future bird watchers, lovers, feeders, etc. Bob Mulvihill is speaking along with his wife. Bob works at the Pittsburgh National Aviary and is very very experienced with our feathery friends. His wife is also a bird lover (naturally) and she worked for many years at our favorite Wild Birds Unlimited.....but the one in Wexford. Additionally we will talk very briefly about our Benefit and the birdhouse contest that we are pairing with this fundraiser. We want to get the buzz going for the contest as well as our newly formatted Benefit. So come on over for some fall treats and wonderful information on how to attract and keep birds in our backyards.
BEFORE the Tuesday meeting, however:
DON'T FORGET--if you are physically able, please join us on SATURDAY, OCTOBER 8 at 8:30 for cleanup of Beulah Rd and hillside weeding at the BCA. Many hands make light work so please donate at least an hour of your labor, if you can. Meet at the BCA and be part of EJ's ARMY!
ALSO, the BCA is having their FALL FEST on SATURDAY, OCTOBER 8 starting at 3 pm at the park. This is also newly configured as the BCA board is combining the usual pumpkin carving and family events with the concert in the park, which is usually held in August. This should be a wonderful time with activities to please all age groups. Inclement weather will push the event into the BCA building. The BGC is having a table there for awhile so if anyone is planning on going and can give even 1/2 hour of their time to cover the table, please let me know.
FINALLY, if you are interested, our executive board meeting is at my house at 10am on Monday, October 10. All are welcome!!
HOPE TO SEE YOU ALL AT THESE EVENTS!!!!
